The Giant Roundworm, Ascaris lumbricoides, is a large parasitic organism which infects a human host, when a human ingests its larva. The parasite then begins to hatch inside the human and grows. The worm can grow up to 35cm longs, and an estimated ⅙ of the world’s population is infected by this parasitic organism. The Giant Roundworm is highly resistant to chemicals, and low temperature allowing it to survive in very harsh conditions. The circulatory system of the Giant Roundworm allows it to gain nutrients by diffusion, and because it lives in the intestines, the worm would be surrounded by the nutrients it needs. If permitted this roundworm can grow, and grow, and grow. Yuck!
