The Pork Tapeworm, or Taenia solium, much like the Lancet Liver Fluke is a rather harmful worm that infects its host through the ingestion of its eggs. This tapeworm is known to be prevalent in countries which contain a population that consumes pork. This tapeworm does not contain circulatory organs, but uses diffusion to respire. More particularly, the tapeworms use glycolysis to produce ATP for energy, and their entire lined structure to respire, when oxygen is available.
